Rug blocking and reshaping
Rugs lose their shape for many reasons: water damage, uneven drying, years of furniture in the same place, or the way the rug was woven. The result is ripples, curling corners and sides that are no longer straight, which is also a tripping hazard.
Blocking stretches and sets the rug back toward its original dimensions while it dries under tension. It is often done together with washing, so the rug comes back clean, flat and square.
