Rug pad installation
Most rugs in South Florida sit on tile, marble or wood, and without a pad they slide, bunch and wear quickly. A good rug pad holds the rug in place, cushions it underfoot and keeps the back of the rug from grinding against a hard floor.
We supply rug pads cut to the size of your rug and install them, either at your home or when we return a rug after cleaning. The pad sits just inside the edges, so it does not show.
How rug pad installation works
- Measure: We measure the rug and check the type of floor underneath.
- Choose the pad: We recommend a pad based on your floor, the rug and how the room is used.
- Cut to fit: The pad is cut slightly smaller than the rug so the edges lie flat.
- Install: We place the pad and the rug together, straight and secure.
Why a rug pad matters
A pad stops slipping and tripping, keeps corners from curling, cushions the rug, reduces wear on the back of the rug, and protects tile and wood floors from scratches.
